About Us

In short: Istambul.com is an English-language travel guide to Istanbul and Türkiye, written by the Istambul.com team in Istanbul and edited by founder Evren Satır. It is published by Travelpedia Turizm Taşımacılık Ticaret Ltd. Şti., a travel agency licensed by TÜRSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) under Group A licence no. 10807, operating since 2018.

What we publish

  • Destination guides to historic sites, ancient cities, museums, mosques and natural wonders across Türkiye, from Hagia Sophia to Cappadocia and the Lycian coast.
  • Istanbul guides and itineraries: where to go, how to get around and how to plan one, two or more days in the city.

Who writes the guides

Every guide is written by the Istambul.com team and edited by Evren Satır, who founded Travelpedia Turizm in 2018 and studied Tourism Guidance and Travel Agency Management at Adnan Menderes University. Each page shows the date it was last reviewed.

How we check facts

  • Primary sources first: dates, inscriptions and heritage status come from sources such as UNESCO, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Britannica, linked on the page.
  • No prices or opening hours: ticket prices, entry fees and opening times change often, so we do not publish them. Check the official site of each attraction before you go.
  • Corrections: if you find an error, write to info@istambul.com. We check it and correct the page.
  • Bookings: some pages contain affiliate booking links (GetYourGuide) and links to our own tour brands below. The editorial content is independent of them.
