Evren Satır, Founder and Editor
In short: Evren Satır is the founder of Travelpedia Turizm, the TÜRSAB-licensed Group A travel agency (licence no. 10807) that publishes Istambul.com. He founded the company in 2018, studied Tourism Guidance and Travel Agency Management at Adnan Menderes University (class of 2009), and edits the destination guides and articles written by the Istambul.com team.
Background
Evren holds a university degree in Tourism Guidance and Travel Agency Management from the Faculty of Tourism at Adnan Menderes University, where he graduated in 2009. After training as a tour guide, he moved to the planning and operations side of travel: building itineraries, contracting hotels and transport, and running the logistics behind multi-day trips in Türkiye.
In 2018 he founded Travelpedia Turizm. Since then he has built a group of Istanbul travel businesses, including Bosphorus cruises, Turkish bath experiences and visits to Çamlıca Tower and the Cistern of Theodosius, sold to visitors from around the world through international booking platforms. He also founded Turkey Itineraries, which runs private tours of Türkiye.

- Editing: he edits the destination guides and Istanbul articles written by the Istambul.com team and decides which places and topics the site covers.
- Sources: he sets the rule that facts on the site come from primary sources such as UNESCO, the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Britannica, and that the site does not publish prices or opening hours, which change too often to keep accurate.
- Corrections: reports of errors sent to info@istambul.com are checked by the team and corrected on the page.
Evren is not a licensed tour guide himself. Some pages contain affiliate booking links (GetYourGuide) and links to the publisher’s own tour brands; the editorial content is independent of them.
